Navarra Crianza 2021 Pagos de Araiz

This is a rich and powerful blend of merlot, tempranillo, cabernet and syrah grown near the medieval town of Olite, where the mostly snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees are still visible to the naked eye. Thanks to these mountains, the 'cierzo' (northern wind) blows, which refreshes the vineyards on hot summer days. After the harvest, the must undergoes malolactic fermentation in American and French oak barrels, where it matures for eleven months. This is followed by a further six-month maturation period in steel tanks at the end of which the final assembly takes place. In the bottle the wine ages for another four months. All this results in a beautiful bouquet with red fruits in harmony with a pleasant spiciness and coffee notes. On the palate it is powerful but also elegant, with a balance between fruit, wood and delicate tannins.
