Awarded a 9+ by Harold Hamersma: "Not long ago, only a few experienced connoisseurs knew about a grenache (garnacha) wine: Châteauneuf-du-pape! And Gigondas, added another wine expert. Only thanks to that beautiful book by Hubrecht Duijker, Good wines from the South of France, we discovered that there are many other sun-kissed and aromatic wines, rich in cherry scent and spicy notes. And only much later did we discover that the grenache grape was of Spanish origin, where it is called garnacha. And thanks to this bottle we discovered that it is possible to produce a quality wine at the level of the best Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with refined details. of the taste of ripe cherry. Garnacha comes from very old vineyards in the cool, northern Baja Montaña region, as indicated on the back label almost as if you frequent that place daily. And it was made into wine by - eh, he sounds Dutch! Yes: Frank Smulders MW is written next to his name, which means he knows a lot about wine. Only a few hundred people have managed to pass the exams so far.”

| Taste impression | The Garnacha grapes from very ancient vineyards were consciously harvested at the moment of complete maturation, in order to fully express their aromatic potential. The wine first and foremost shows extremely pure and expressive fruit, such as red and black cherries, ripe plums and blackberries. The tannins are soft but present, the alcohol is well balanced with the acidity. Light hint of wood thanks to one year's aging in used French oak barrels. A full, structured and at the same time fresh red wine, perfect to enjoy now but with an aging potential of several years. |
