Domaine Théo Blet

In the heart of the Loire Valley, on a terroir where vines have been nurtured with dedication for generations, Domaine Théo Blet flourishes as a renewed family estate with deep roots. What began with a grandfather inheriting the vineyards of his wife’s family grew, under the guidance of his son – a farmer at heart – into a beautiful estate of no less than 16 hectares. His long collaboration with local cooperatives and his care for the land led, two years ago, to a complete organic conversion of the vineyards – a natural step for a family that holds sustainability and respect for nature in the highest regard.

Today, it is the fourth generation that takes the helm. Théo Blet has chosen to bring winemaking back to the estate itself, with a deep respect for family tradition and a contemporary vision. At present, only one hectare of the total vineyard is dedicated to their own wine production – two wines that vividly express both personal style and terroir. The remaining grapes, faithful to the past, are still delivered to the local cooperative. But the ambition is clear: to gradually bottle more of their own wines and give the domaine an increasingly distinctive voice in the glasses of wine lovers.

The terroir of Domaine Théo Blet is rich in limestone, providing the perfect foundation for expressive wines with tension and finesse. The wines reflect both the character of the region and the attentive hand of the winemaker, who carefully oversees every step from soil to bottle.

The estate’s white wine is a refined, complex Chenin Blanc, opening with aromas of ripe pear and exotic pineapple. On the palate, it is carried by a lively freshness, underscored by pronounced chalky minerality and a playful hint of “acidulé bonbon”. A wine that is already a delight now, but with enough structure to evolve gracefully over the coming years.

The red wine – a young yet surprisingly supple Cabernet Franc – reveals an intense purple hue and a bouquet of blackcurrants. On the palate it is fresh and full, with ripe, rounded tannins that provide elegance and approachability. This wine, too, holds aging potential, while already charming the drinker today.

With Domaine Théo Blet, the past comes alive in the glass while the future is being written. It is an estate where authenticity, craftsmanship, and vision converge – a new name to remember, built on generations of experience and a profound connection to the land.
