Vineyard Mayschosser Mönchberg. Soils, rocks and walls of dark shale and grauwacke retain the sun's heat, releasing it to the vines during the night. The result is a Mediterranean microclimate. The locality is characterized by stony and silty shale soils. The name "Mönchberg" comes from the former ownership of the Klosterrath monastery of the Augustinians in Aachen, founded in Mayschoß.
Harvest Selective manual harvesting
Vinification Rigorous selection, followed by delicate pressing and 17 days of maceration with spontaneous fermentation. Subsequently, aging in new barrels for 18 months.
