Awarded a 9+ by De Grote Hamersma: "An emotion seeker: Grégory Pérez. He managed to find vineyards with 70-year-old vines in Espanillo and Quilos, both in Bierzo. They were in a state of extreme neglect, in a reachable place only with an off-road vehicle. So he had the courage to entrust his hard-earned grapes to tinajas, underground clay containers, for half a year they lend themselves to such a traditional approach. And not even every godello lover appreciates the result. Even Pérez's godello is for everyone: a mix of golden apples, apricots and yuzu Belgian endive - made even more interesting thanks to a slight oxidative touch. A flirtation between Chenin blanc from the Loire, Chardonnay from the Jura and Manzanilla from Jerez fascinating and out of the ordinary white wine."
